Beth was away this week, we were free! It's like when your parents are on holiday! So it's no coincidence then that Chris preached about freedom this week at communicating life. It was a very very good one this week, as many questions were answered, so go and watch/listen on this page and then listen again again! There was loads in it. The question that is always asked to Christians is "if there is a God, why is the world such a mess?" and the answer is that because he wanted us to be free! He gave us free will to do with what we want. Have a listen to the Rodcast to hear more on this, and did I mention that you should listen to the preach?
Biblicall this week, send your answers to urbanrevolution@rockchurch.org.uk. Enjoy.

I think we’ll give a prize for figuring out the lyrics to our hardcore Rodcast song. Mugs up for grabs! Email us!
We had an abnormal amount of fun recording this Rodcast for you tonight, let us know what you think! We see the return of the dictionary game in this weeks’ cast as well as animal sounds with Tom and the usual round up of the weeks events. Hopefully this picture will make sense. Though, it probably wont!
This weeks’ peach was more from Anth about the “Holy Place of Mystery.” Don’t worry, it sounds more complicated than it actually is. Here’s what I got from it. It’s that moment where everything God is saying makes sense to you. It’s a good place! God is talking to us in our own language all the time, all we need to do is tune in! This is difficult sometimes because we think we know what’s best for us and even sometimes obliviously carry on in our own ways without realising that we’ve lost the plot! I will be paying special attention this week and try to report back. God tends to show me visual imagery, which is nice because that’s my most sensitive “language.” Does make me wonder though, there’s a fella in the bible who God spoke to through a donkey… And another guy through a burning bush! Well whatever floats your boat. (Noah, that wasn’t a joke). It’s late, so I best leave it at that. Email us at urbanrevolution@rockchurch.org.uk – Facebook us or come and see us at Energized/Interface on Friday nights and every Saturday at Communicating Life.

Quite an accidentally slick Rodcast this week! Check out some of the timings! We summarized some of Joels’ peach, which was all about “dying to self".” If you don’t get what that means after listening to the Rodcast, then we haven’t done our job! We tried. Anyway make sure you listen to/watch the peach online here. You can also view the PowerPoint that Joel used containing his notes here. Certainly worth a read/listen! We have another “animal sounds with Tom” this week so send your guesses to urbanrevolution@rockchurch.org.uk. Let us know what you think of the Rodcast and thanks for listening.
On Friday nights, at Energized, we do something we call “The Cross Section” where a member of the team has to relate everything we believe about the cross to a random object which is determined by the crowd. Last Friday, Danny rather stylishly related the cross to a dragons’ moustache! We decided to upload it so you can enjoy it anytime!

Sums up the Rodcast in one I guess! I haven't got time right now to write this one up, but I thought I'd get it online for all to hear. Enjoy.

We made it all the way to 21! Who’d have thought? Anyway, we didn’t have long and I apologise for its’ lateness, but it should be clearer why after listening! We also forgot to announce the winner of last weeks’ Biblicall, so I can gladly reveal that the correct answer was Mary, the mother of Jesus and the winner was Liz Bateson. Well done, you’ve won yourself a hand crafted Rodcast mug! Be sure to tick the “I’ve listened box” below when you’ve listened!
See you around :)

Well sorry it’s a really late one this week! I’ve been quarantined to my bed all week with flu… Most likely swine flu, since the doctors diagnose any flu-like symptom as swine flu at the moment… Tom has caught it too. I blame Beth’s sniffles which can be heard on this here Rodcast! Don’t worry though. as far as I’m aware, it’s not contagious through digital sound waves, though it wouldn’t surprise me if it was announced to spread that way on the news…
This is the last Rodcast for a couple of weeks as there is a wedding next week and we’re on holiday the week after. We’ve got the usual stuff in there this week, so I hope you enjoy it! Joining us this week was special guest Hayley Bushell, who gave us all a little something to laugh at!
I think it was about the right time for Rodcast break as we seem to have got into the routine of “blagging” it – and losing momentum. But after a re-purpose, a re-think, and a holiday we will be all set for another run with a fresh feel and hopefully some new ideas to make your listening experience an absolute pleasure! So again, have a great holiday and we look forward to coming back refreshed after our holiday! Thanks for listening!
OK, so Steve hasn’t uploaded the Rodcast yet so I thought I’d post this just to assure you that it is recorded and on its’ way. Forward all complaints towards Steve ;)
I hope you are all having a good week so far. Many of you will be into your summer holidays now, 6 weeks of relaxing, BBQs, parties, and many may well be going away on their hols! One thing that really used to bug me was when you’d get back to school after the holidays and some of your friends are running around saying that they are so glad to be back at school because the holidays are “soooo” boring! I just could not understand those people! But I suppose we are all energized by different things. I for one used my summer holidays to be creative and actually preferred to spend my time alone whether it be drumming, drawing, making some crazy videos or just playing on the Playstation. It’s what I needed to do in order to recharge. Others may rely on being around people and being super-social for this boost. I am still very much the same now. And by the way, I don’t like to completely cut myself off from the rest of the world, I do like to see my friends! The problem I am having now is that working full time and having a busy lifestyle doesn’t give me much time to “recharge” the way I want to! So I am now really having to rely on God to be the source of my strength and I am 100% sure it is him that keeps me ticking over. I have to force myself to have about half an hour “God time” every day, (usually in the evening) where I’ll talk to him, and do some reading and always feel refreshed and content by the time I go to bed. I highly recommend it! If I don’t do this, I start to feel aggravated and tense, like I’ve stubbed my toe or like someone’s put a bucket on my head or something! I also find it harder to get to sleep for some reason! So this holiday, I’d like to encourage you to be creative, be energized, wake up before 12 (take it from me – I used to be a sleep-in-a-holic) and see what happens if you just give a few minutes of your day to talk to God. Sound cheesy? Yeah it probably does, but I don’t know how else to word it! – Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!
So I'm interested to know that you've been up to, and how you like to recharge. Might well read some out on the next Rodcast. Click the bit below where it says "0 comments" and add a comment!!
Here it is! Rodcast number thirteen, a bakers’ dozen! We went for a slightly different approach this week, so we hope you enjoy it!
There’s the usual fun with the dictionary game, featuring the words: Plump, Latin, Scourge and Filofax. We talk briefly about Communicating Life, Steve talks about his “People Like You” and we play one of his songs, a new feature, which isn’t as cheesy as it sounds (we hope) - “What Would Jesus Do?” – yeah, OK it may be a bit of a cliché. Tom talked a bit about something he saw on TV, called “The Big Questions”, which can be watched (against Tom’s advice) on the BBC iPlayer for a week here.
On the Rodcast I promised to upload the video we made for Steve’s story. But unfortunately the hard drive I had it saved on seems to have failed (along with another half a terabyte of valuable irreplaceable stuff!) and I am rather upset! Sorry about that.
Here comes the usual plea for you to give us some feedback! If you have anything you’d like us to cover, any questions, comments, either about what we’ve talked about or something that’s on your mind, PLEASE leave a comment either on this very page below, email us at urbanrevolution@rockchurch.org.uk or Facebook us here.
Finally, for those who are interested, here’s the picture of the spider that Steve spotted building a web on his equipment.
12 weeks on the trot now with the Rodcast and we’re still going strong! Hope you all enjoy the episode. Tom couldn’t make it this week, so we got our favourite imaginary librarian Heather Sagar to take to the mic. As usual we talk a bit about what went on at Communicating Life, which can be watched on the Ice Breaking TV page. Due to a few technical issues, the sound is very very quiet on this weeks Ice Breaking TV broadcast – apologies for that!
PEACH! This weeks’ preach was the second and final instalment on reconciliation by Chris Chapman and can be heard again on the Ice Breaking TV page until next Saturday. We talk a little bit about our thoughts on what was said and try to answer a few questions which I was a little unsure about. If any of you have any questions on the preach, email us or leave a comment on this post and we will be able to respond to it!
We played a song on the Rodcast for the first time in weeks! “Leave the Shores Behind” which lead to an interesting story about this cheerful chap. Lead “singer” of the band Digicore. This is the fella who kissed me on the forehead and below is a link to the actual event taken on Steve’s phone camera. I put on a brave face but I don’t think I slept for a while! I did catch up with the front man later on and asked him if he does that very often or if I was just special or lucky or something. He just said he was sorry and that he got carried away and that I should feel privileged. And in a bizarre way, I kind of do.
Thanks for reading (and listening). If you want to email us rather than publicly post and comments or questions then the address is urbanrevolution@rockchurch.org.uk. Feel free to give us any feedback or requests or even shout-outs! See you around!

It’s all new and exciting on this page as I’m sure you can see! We wanted a bit more to the Rodcast than just the sound of our voices. So here’s the blog page! We’ll give you a little write up and a bit of extra content and links that we may have referred to in the Rodcast. So “follow” the blog and don’t be afraid to post comments about anything you see or hear that may be of some interest! And I mean anything! This is going to be a bit of a mammoth post featuring all the Rodcasts to date, so that from now on we can post them in a new format! It will also feature posts from all of us, and some on a different topic altogether so we will see what happens.
